Modelo 347: when the obligation kicks in and how to track it
2026-04-18 · 3 min read
If you regularly buy from the same supplier, there's a number you need to watch: €3,005.06 per year.
What is Modelo 347
It's an annual informational return that requires declaring all transactions with third parties exceeding €3,005.06 per year (VAT included). It's filed in February of the following year.
It's not a tax — you don't pay anything. But if you don't file it or the figures don't match your supplier's, the tax authority (Hacienda) may investigate.
Who is required to file
Any autónomo or company that has invoiced or purchased more than €3,005.06 from the same third party during the calendar year. This includes:
- Purchases from regular suppliers
- Rent payments
- Recurring professional services
The problem for freelancers
Most autónomos don't know they're approaching the threshold until their accountant tells them in February — when it's too late to do anything about it.
Example: you buy supplies from the same store 10 times a year. Each invoice is €350. Total: €3,500. You're required to file Modelo 347 and you might not even know it.
